Slater and Laura | Pacific City Wedding Photography
Wiping tears from the corners of his eyes, one of the groomsmen watched his newly married best friend Slater from across the room.
“Slater loves Laura SO HARD,” he told me. “So hard!!”
And I agreed. The sentiment echoed through every single moment of the day.
At that time, Slater had just finished singing to Laura during their reception and there was hardly a dry eye left in the room. His voice was like honey, and the song – oh the song – it was the one he sang to Laura when he proposed to her. It’s the song he wrote for her after he came home from their first big trip to Thailand together, when she was still there for a few weeks longer and he was home missing her more than anything else in the world. That was when he knew.
Laura was the one. She was the girl he had been waiting for.
Now, I’ve known Slater for a long time now, almost five years. And I remember single Slater telling me how badly he wanted to find someone, the right someone. Everyone wants their friends to find love and find the perfect person for them. But then they do find it, and it is more beautiful than you could have ever imagined.
Laura pulled me aside a little later in the night to point at Slater on the dancefloor.
“Look at him,” she said, beaming. “Look how amazing he is. Look how adorable my husband is!”
That’s love right there. And this was one heck of a wedding.
The day started at two beach houses in Pacific City – one for the girls and one for the guys. Laura proceeded to get the most epic bridal hairdo that I have ever seen, and the boys… well.. they were boys haha.
Once everyone was ready, we all head over to Pelican Pub and Brewery for the ceremony on the beach!
This was not your average processional. Instead of simply walking down the aisle, the wedding party decided to dance. And not just to any song. To “Cinema” by Benny Benassi and Skrillex. Because why not?
After the ceremony we all went back to the beach house for portraits in the dunes!
I could hardly handle how beautiful everything looked. And then I saw the reception site. AMAZING. Sunflower Flats did an incredible job with all the flowers!
This is when Slater started singing to Laura. So. Incredibly. Beautiful.
Everyone went outside for their first dance and toasts on the beach!
Once the room was flipped, they finished up the father-daughter and mother-son dances inside, plus fed each other some delicious cupcakes.
And then I managed to snag the awesome couple for a few more beach portraits at dusk.
Once they got back inside they did their bouquet and garter tosses, and True Love Sound kicked things up a notch with some epic dance music.
Slater you are too adorable.
After the wedding had officially ended, everyone went out to the beach for a big bonfire, more beer, and great conversation. It was the perfect end to the perfect day.
Congratulations Slater and Laura! I cannot thank you enough for having me there to document your day. I love you two so much! This was one of the most incredible weddings I have ever been to!
