Columbia River Gorge Anniversary Photos at Steep Creek Falls

Kirsten and RJ have been together for seven years and they wanted to celebrate their relationship with some epic Columbia River Gorge anniversary photos! Kirsten is good friends with the super talented Holly Stadler of The Diamond Sea Bridal and borrowed the most INCREDIBLE dress for our shoot at Steep Creek Falls. It was my first time shooting at this location and needless to say, I was obsessed. It’s way off the beaten path on the Washington side of the Gorge and it is so stunning! These Steep Creek Falls couples photos were some of my favorites ever! To get down to the waterfall we had to awkwardly scramble under a bridge and around some super slippery rocks, and Kirsten got dressed once we were down there. We were all alone in this location which made it such a romantic place to take some sweet photos of the two of them celebrating their love and being goofy together! One funny thing did happen while we were taking these Columbia River Gorge anniversary photos though – when Kirsten changed into her dress, she left her T-shirt sitting on a blanket for later. When we were done, it was GONE. Like seriously, we looked everywhere and it was no where to be found! The only explanation we could think of was that some bird or animal thought the soft fabric would be perfect for their nest, and snatched it when we weren’t looking! So crazy! Kirsten and RJ don’t necessarily ever want to get married or elope, but they do believe in celebrating the love that they have and I 100% respect that! Everyone is different and I’m all for doing your own thing, your own way. Getting to take these Steep Creek Falls couples photos of them in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge was perfect for who they are and their own unique love story. The take-home message? Do what you want. Celebrate your love. Don’t follow tradition or rules or worry about anyone else. You do you, and I’ll photograph you exactly the way you are
