Hoyt Arboretum Anniversary Photos

Kerry and Mike celebrated their 4 year wedding anniversary (and 6 years of being together!) this September by taking Hoyt Arboretum anniversary photos! They live in Spokane but took a trip back to Portland for a concert and a photoshoot with me! It was special to them because they actually first met in Portland about 10 years ago. These two are outdoorsy and love to hike, camp, and ride their bikes. They are also barflies during the day on weekends. They love dive bars with old jukeboxes! They also have an adorable dog named Grizz that Kerry described as a “16 pound ball of awesomeness.” There is one funny story I have to tell. I was in St. Lucia earlier this year shooting an epic elopement, and while I was on the island I randomly ran into a woman at our hotel who knew Kerry! I met her because I actually got a ride in her car from our hotel to breakfast, and as we were chatting I found out we had a mutual friend. It was so crazy to meet someone on the other side of the world who was super good friends with this girl! The world is SO small.

Love in the Forest

Kerry is actually a talented photographer herself, and I was stoked that she was drawn my moody couples photos. “Photography is a big deal in my life,” Kerry said. “I actually re-launced my photography business late last year and do primarily still life and macro. I absolutely adore your work. I’ve cried looking at many of your images! I appreciate how you capture the realness and connection between couples, how much you can feel that you love what you do, and the final images you produce are full of emotion and are visually stunning.” It was SO fun getting to goof off in the forest with these two and take some epic Hoyt Arboretum anniversary photos!
