Branding Portrait Pricing Guide
As a small business owner myself, I cannot stress enough how helpful it is to have incredible portraits of yourself. It both empowers you personally and elevates your business, brand, art, and online presence.
I’ve been a portrait photographer in Portland for 12 years, and I’m exceptionally passionate about working with fellow professionals, artists, musicians, small businesses, and makers. My goal is to empower the community in Portland with gorgeous, unique imagery.
My work is inclusive, honest, real, and artistic. It’s also profoundly personalized. The most important thing for me is creating a connection with you. I will work with you to get to know you, understand your unique photography needs, as well as the things you love most about yourself, your best angles, and bring it all together in portraits you absolutely ADORE.
Types of Portraits
There is definitely not a “one size fits all” portrait for all the different artists, professionals, creatives, small business owners, and makers out there. Every portrait shoot is unique, and I love to work one-on-one with everyone to customize their experience. That said, the majority of my portrait work falls into one of these four categories: traditional headshots, lifestyle portraits, conceptual portraits, or behind-the-scenes pictures.
Traditional Headshots
These are clean, simple, professional portraits. The focus is entirely on you. They are timeless and classic, although I definitely have a modern style. I typically take these in a natural-light studio, or anywhere with good light and clean wall space. The goal is just to take the best-ever photo of you, looking like yourself, ideally looking at the camera. Great for websites, personal branding, social media, and use in publications.
Lifestyle Portraits
These are playful, honest, authentic portraits that show you being you. These are a little less traditional and more candid. I typically take these on location, frequently outdoors, but also indoors and occasionally in a studio. Great for personal branding, social media, dating pictures, and websites.
Conceptual Portraits
Conceptual portraits cover a wide range of imagery. I think of them as portraits with an artistic, weird, quirky edge. They provide unique content that doesn’t feel cookie-cutter and is an expressive representation of a person, band, business, or brand. These types of photos are especially great for musicians (think cover art), but also for artists, photographers, or anyone with a unique personal brand. They are perfect for standing out or use on social media. I take these everywhere and anywhere - in a studio, outdoors, on location, even in your own house.
Behind-the-Scenes Portraits
These portraits focus on incorporating your own spaces into the shoot. Whether it’s your home office, your place of business, or your art studio, we can take portraits that show a behind-the-scenes look at where you work and what you do. These often include detail shots of the space, candids of you at work, and lifestyle portraits of you in the location. These types of photoshoots are great for a variety of businesses, but also work for social media or personal dating portraits too.
Portrait Collections
The On-Location Session
$850
- Up to 90 minute photoshoot indoors or outdoors.
- Up to 3 locations if they are within a 15 minute driving radius of each other.
- Online proofing to choose the photos you want.
- 20 final retouched photos in both black and white and color.
The Studio Session
$1000
- Up to 90 min photoshoot in an indoor studio space in Portland.
- Includes studio fee.
- Online proofing to choose the photos you want.
- 20 final retouched photos in both black and white and color.
Mt Tabor Mini Sessions
$450
- 30 minute session at Mt Tabor Park
- Online proofing to choose the photos you want.
- 10 final retouched photos in both black and white and color.
Extras
- Additional edited photos: $15 per image
- Additional photoshoot time: $500 per extra hour
- Purchase all the unedited JPEGs from the session: $300
- Purchase all the unedited RAW files from the session: $500
My process
- Schedule a phone call with me! We will get to know each other and brainstorm the type of photos that you need and ideas for the shoot. I’ll explain more about my process and answer any questions you might have.
- Choose a date and collection.
- I’ll send you an online contract and invoice to book me officially.
- We plan more, both over email and the phone, to prep for your portraits.
- On the day of the session, we’ll take a ton of photos, you’ll change outfits as many times are you want, and we’ll have a ton of fun!
- I’ll go home and upload the pictures, and get rid of any that are unflattering.
- I’ll upload the unedited pictures to a private online gallery as proofs and send them to you within one week.
- You’ll look through your pictures and favorite the shots that you want me to edit and retouch (however many your collection includes). You’ll make your decisions mostly on facial expressions/body language at this stage, since the photos are unedited and I can fix lighting, crops, etc. If you want more than your number includes, you can add extras for $15 each.
- Once you pick the photos, email me, and then it will take me a max of four weeks to edit them!
- When I’m done, I’ll email you a final gallery with the high res, retouched pictures. They will be in both color, and black and white. You’ll be able to download the images directly from the online gallery to use as you need them!
